How I Can Help

As an educator, a therapist and inner vibe guide, my passion is to support willing, motivated and determined people like you to find your preferred inner vibe – without stressing out, or burning out in the process.

When you work with me - I create a trusted and safe space for you to sustainably change habits, patterns and behaviors. I’m here to give you some simple and usable tools and skills for self-regulating emotions and managing stress. The idea is to support you, so you have more energy for the things that are important to you.

I work alongside my clients and support them to uncover or re-discover: their inner strengths, their inner resources, and their inner courage. Strengthening their inner connection helps my clients feel in control of their life.

 

What I Want:

  • I want to skill-build with you. I want to support you in cultivating your capacities and strengths.

  • I want to encourage you to heal past wounds or get through current upheavals.

  • I want you to have the skills and tools to understand and work with your mind, body and emotions, so you are working with your natural rhythms, not against them.

As a fiery old soul, I was determined to get through the darkest parts of myself, and once and for all feel like I had control of my life. In the process, I found my voice and boundaries. I learned to self-regulate my emotions and my mouth, and stopped sacrificing myself for things that were toxic for me.

Are you ready to make a change?

I work one-to-one with you to regulate your mindset, emotions and your body. You’ll learn to reduce everyday stress, avoid burnout, and create a fully self-regulated and connected life. Feeling more connected will give you more time and energy to pursue what matters to you.

Regulation is NOT calm! Regulation means connected.

When you are having a moment of regulation, you are connected. You are attached to the self. What that means is that we can be regulated and be angry or sad at the same time. We can be regulated and anxious at the same time. How it feels is that we still feel more in control than the emotion or physiological response. We can be angry and notice our increase of energy and activity in our brain and central nervous system. We can notice our heart rate going up. We can notice what is going on in the body, but we are not CALM, rather we learn to digest what is going on to remain connected to self.

My goal to support you is NOT to teach you to be calm. When we focus on simply being calm, it teaches us to stuff emotions and neglect the body. Individuals who can stay connected to themselves, in the intensity and physiology of an emotion, are emotionally regulated and authentically connected to the self.

Background, Education and Training

I graduated in 2006 with distinction from Vancouver Island University with a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Care. I trained in Business at Business Works in 2007 and successfully launched my first business in 2008 (www.esteemedchics.com) and Esteem Child and Family Services.

I received an entrance scholarship to complete my Master of Arts at the University of Victoria and successfully defended my Master’s thesis is 2011. In 2011 I received my Registered Clinical Counselling designation through the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).

I am a member of the BCACC, The Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and The International Counselling Association.

I am trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities including but not limited to: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness Based Therapy, Trauma Informed Therapy, Art and Experiential Based Therapy, Gestalt, Family Systems Therapy, Metaphysical Anatomy, Neurobiological approaches, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

All Sessions are 50 minutes in length. Can be in-office or via video i.e. Skype

Individual Session - $120.00

Couples or Family Session - $125.00

Coaching or Mediation - $165.00

Group Sessions (per individual) - prices vary
